This blog springs from several sources of inspiration. The first comes from my introduction to the world of podcasting, when I was impressed by the fact that the Average Joe, with a little technical know-how, was able to get his voice heard in the public square. The second comes from the fact that if you are looking for a job in the tech industry it’s practically assumed that you have some sort of website or blog. The third is because I found the various social networking websites just didn’t lend themselves to long posts or they didn’t allow a wide enough audience.
I came up with the rather odd name “Catholic Hacker” for this blog after reading Hackers: Heroes of the Computer Revolution by Steven Levy and because of my interest in digital technology and my Catholic faith.
